The hIOmon Presentation Client is a Java™-based application that provides a standard windows-type graphical user interface (GUI).  Besides being used to configure, control and manage hIOmon, the Presentation Client can also be used to display (in either real-time or "replay" mode) the I/O operation performance information that has been collected by the hIOmon I/O Monitor.

The hIOmon Presentation Client GUI is a simple yet feature-rich interface that allows you to quickly and easily get the information you need from hIOmon.  The following screen shots are just a few examples that show how easy hIOmon is to use and the wealth of I/O operation performance information that only hIOmon can provide (including the "Performance Threshold Range Metrics"):

• File Filter Options display.  Shows how you can specify the particular I/O operation performance information that you want the hIOmon I/O Monitor to collect (i.e., which particular files are to be monitored, what I/O operation information is to be collected, and how/when the collected I/O operation information is to be offloaded).

• Specifying Alert conditions.  Illustrates the many different file I/O performance thresholds that you can set for selected file I/O operations; upon the detection of these thresholds having been reached, hIOmon will offload a cumulative summary/aggregate of the file's I/O operation performance information (and optionally generate a System Event Log record, which in turn allows notification via system management tools that monitor the System Event Log).

• I/O Trace Read performance data display.  An example of an actual I/O Trace*** information display, with the file I/O operation activity generated by viewing a white paper with the Adobe® Acrobat® Reader™.

• I/O Trace Write performance data display.  An associated example of an actual I/O Trace*** information display, with the file I/O operation activity generated by overwriting the white paper used in the example above.

• File I/O Summary performance data displays.  Examples of an actual summarized*** (i.e., automatically aggregated by hIOmon) file I/O operation performance information displays, using the Alert conditions specified in the screen shots noted above along with the file I/O activity as shown in the two prior I/O Trace Display examples.

• Performance Threshold Range Metrics displays.  Examples of actual "Performance Threshold Range Metrics" displays, which reflect the occurrences of various ranges of IOPS, MBs, and I/O operation queue depths/lengths that were actually observed by the hIOmon I/O Monitor for individual devices and a file.

The hIOmon Presentation Client is included with the hIOmon I/O Performance Monitor software package.  The "Trace Records" and "I/O Summary" displays are only available if the respective hIOmon Licensing Option has been purchased.
