A one-page "Success Fact Sheet" article published by IBM that describes and highlights the successful collaboration between hyperI/O LLC and IBM.   This collaboration helped expedite the integration of hIOmon with the IBM Tivoli Monitoring solutions, resulting in the hIOmon "Add-On Support for IBM Tivoli Monitoring" which has been validated by IBM as "Ready for IBM Tivoli software".  The IBM "Success Fact Sheet" article is also available for download from the IBM web site at: http://www.ibm.com/partnerworld/iic/vbrief/hyperio_success.pdf  

Presentations

This presentation provides a short overview of the hIOmon File I/O Performance Monitor.  Topics such as the "why, what, and how" regarding hIOmon are briefly covered.  Some of the major features and benefits of hIOmon are also described in an abbreviated fashion.

This short presentation (about 10 slides content-wise) covers several key concepts related to taking a top-down, application-perspective approach in regards to disk I/O operations and their performance.  Several illustrative examples using empirical metrics collected by hIOmon are also included within this presentation, which was given at the Rocky Mountain Windows Technology User Group (RMWTUG) meetings in June 2008.

Another short presentation (again about 10 slides content-wise) that discusses the effectiveness of the system file cache and how much of an application's I/O activity actually goes to disk. Examples using empirical metrics collected by hIOmon are included within this presentation, which was given at the Rocky Mountain Windows Technology User Group (RMWTUG) meetings in July 2008.

A short presentation (about 16 slides content-wise) that discusses how the system can be fetching your files unbeknownst to you - and why you see disk drive lights that periodically blink on "idle" systems.  I/O trace examples collected by hIOmon are included within this presentation, which was given at the Rocky Mountain Windows Technology User Group (RMWTUG) meetings in August 2008.
