This short tutorial provides screenshot examples with brief "step-by-step" instructions that show how you can use the hIOmon "Automated Monitoring Configuration Setup Script" to easily and quickly configure the hIOmon software to collect and export I/O trace operation information into an XML trace input file that can be used with the Intel NAS Performance Toolkit (NASPT).

Automated Configuration Setup Script for the Intel NAS Performance Toolkit

The hIOmon File I/O Performance Monitor software package includes a "hIOmon Automated Monitoring Configuration Setup Script".

This VBScript can be used to quickly and easily configure the hIOmon software to capture "I/O trace" operation information (i.e., a separate trace record for each and every I/O operation being monitored by hIOmon) for those specific files/devices that you select.  You can also further limit the collection of the I/O trace operation information to those specific processes of particular interest to you.  In addition, a set of the collected I/O trace operation information is written to a hIOmon Manager Export File in the XML trace input file format that is required by the Intel NASPT tools.  Consequently, this hIOmon Manager Export File can be used directly (without conversion) as a NASPT trace input file for both the NASPT Analyzer and NASPT Exerciser tools. 

This short tutorial provides a quick demonstration of how to use the configuration script to quickly configure the hIOmon software to collect and export the "I/O trace" operation information for the specific files (and optionally processes) of interest to you.
